Q: Which version of iOS is supported?
A: Lean Toward Happy Magazine uses the Newsstand functionality that was introduced by Apple in iOS 5, all users need to have iOs 5 or higher to be able to use Newsstand.
Q: Do I need an Internet Connection to read the mag?
A: It depends. You will be able to read the magazine text and view the images without an online connection. However, you will need to be connected to watch any videos in the magazine.
Q: How does the purchase process work?
A: As a user of the Lean Toward Happy Magazine app, you can either subscribe to the magazine or buy single issues.
If they subscribe (Auto-Renewal) they will get the latest magazine issue published and will have access to any future issues as long as they remain a subscriber. If they purchase a single issue, they will be able to download that issue immediately after the successful purchase.
Q: How do Special Issues Work?
A: Special Issues are different in the sense that they are not part of the magazine subscription. They are independent special issues and everyone will need to buy them to read them, including magazine subscribers. Special issues will have a red “Special” sash and will appear below the top section in your mag home screen. Special issues feature unique content for you, the reader.
Q: How do Subscribers Only Issues Work?
A: Subscribers Only Issues are magazine issues available only to current magazine subscribers. All subscribers can download Subscribers Only Issue.
These magazine issues display only a Download button and have a yellow sash with the word Private.
If a non-subscriber tries to click on the Download button he will get a pop up advising him that he first need to subscribe.
Q: How can I cancel their Mag subscriptions?
A: We hate to see you go!! Here are the steps, Tap on Settings App, Scroll and Tap on Store, Scroll down and Tap on your Apple ID.
Tap on “View Apple ID”, Enter your Password, Scroll Down and Tap on Manage in the Subscriptions Section.
You will see your Magazine subscriptions, Tap on the one you want to cancel.
Your Current Subscription details will be shown, Turn auto-renewal to OFF.
Q: I See The Yellow Subscribe Button But No Issue Is Downloaded
A: This is something that can happen due to a connection error between the iPad and the Apple servers. Please perform the following steps:
Fully close the magazine, tap on the home button to ensure you have exited the magazine, then double tap the home button.
All the opened apps will appear at the bottom of the iPad. Press and hold on top of the magazine, the apps will start to shake, tap on the red minus sign to FULLY close the magazine.
Make sure you are logged in with the same Apple ID that subscribed to the magazine. To do this, tap on the Settings app, scroll down and tap on the store app, double check that the same Apple ID is being used. If not, sign out and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
Relaunch the Magazine. Go to the Newsstand App and tap on the magazine to launch it. The splash page will appear and then the magazine home screen will show. The page should be updated and now the yellow subscribe button would have been replaced with a grey Restore button.
Restore all purchases. The client can tap on the restore button if desired to re-download all previously purchased magazine issues.
Q: My New Magazines Are Not Being Delivered Automatically
A: We love Apple but even they are not perfect. Sometimes your iPad can drop the push notification connection.
To correct this turn off Wifi, turn on Airplane mode, then reconnect to Wifi.
Something else you can try is to connect to another Wifi network for a while and then switch back to yours.
Restarting your iPad can also help.
Q: I Am Getting A “Cannot Connect To iTunes Store” When Clicking On The Subscribe Button Or Buy Button
A: This can occur if you do not have Wifi or internet access, or you have “Restrictions ON” to prevent others from making purchases in your iPad. Restrictions are located on the general settings and should be disabled to allow inApp purchases.
Q: I Cannot Open The Magazine App, It Closes Immediately When Reaching The Splash Page
A: This can happen if your time clock is set as 12 hour format and possibly using a different language other than English. This happens the first time you attempt to open the magazine. To solve this in version 2.4.1 you need to set your clock as 24 hour format, do this in General settings, under Date & Time. Then open the magazine. After that, if you want, you can change the clock back to 12 hour format.
Q: My App Is Crashing

Q: I Am Having Issues Restoring My Subscription On Another One Of My iPads.
A: This is a bug that has been found in version 2.7.5 and has been fixed in version 3 and higher. The work around with version 2.7.5 or older is to
+ Be logged in with same apple ID on New Device
+ Launch the App
+ Click on the yellow subscribe button and click on Restore all purchases.
+ Then Close the app and fully relaunch it
+ It should on the second launch show the grey restore button if you were a subscriber
The restore only works if you are using an iTunes Connect subscription (paid or free), it will not work on a “Bonus Code” subscription as there is no Apple authentication. For these cases use can use the code again on new device.
